Endalamaw Abatyihun Sema, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) in the Department of English Language and Literature at Debre Markos University, Ethiopia. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and supervises MA researches. Throughout his academic career, he has also served in different leadership roles within the University. His teaching and research interests focus on ELT, teacher education, writing instruction, critical thinking, problem-based learning, educational technology, technology-enhanced language learning, communicative competence (multi-competence), the integration of 21st-century skills into language education, post-method pedagogy, and contemporary developments in English language teaching, including evolving approaches, goals, and perspectives, as well as the changing roles and responsibilities of English language educators.
Dr. Endalamaw has served as principal investigator and collaborator on several funded research projects focusing on educational quality, teacher professional development, curriculum innovation, and digital education. He also serves as a reviewer for national and international peer-reviewed journals and actively contributes to academic leadership, research, and community engagement. His scholarly work is dedicated to advancing English language education and promoting educational quality in Ethiopia and beyond.
