Yabibal Sebisib Zewude

I am Yabibal Sebisib Zewude.  I am a Lecturer in the department of sociology at Debre Markos university, Ethiopia. I hold a master of arts (MA) in social anthropology from BahrDar university and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in social anthropology from Bulie Hora university.  Currently, I serve as a social antheroplogy staff member in the department of sociology at Debre Markos university. In this role, I teach first year (Frishman) students social antheroplogy courses. Related with this I had prepared different syllabuses and instructional materials and undertakes various academic and departmental responsibilities. I have five (5) years of teaching experience at Debre Markos university.  I hold several additional professional certifications, including the higher diploma program (HDP), SPSS and stata, e-Learning (e-SHE) and 5 million Ethiopian coder courses including data-science fundamentals, programing fundamentals and artificial intelligence fundamentals for strengthening higher education program.

In summary, I am committed to work in teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and community engagement continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of social antheroplogy education and higher education in Ethiopia.

My research interests include culture and society, gender issues, social change, marginalization and vulnerable group.  Particularly I am interested in studying indigenous knowledge in holistic perspective in order to answer the question of how we can adapt our country’s traditional culture and knowledge to the modern world without losing its essence. In the future, in addition to my research interest, I plan to put forward my own ideas on how we should live together in love, as our country is a country of multi-cultural in the field of social services.
